✍️I would like to kickstart today’s discussion with the following question:
Would you like to Boost your Productivity, Efficiency and Sustainability in both business and personal life?
✍️ To answer this question, I have titled this episode, “The Power of Creativity and Optimisation.”
✍️This brings me to my main point; The Power of Creativity and Optimisation empowers you to leverage your creative potentials by allowing your mind to think of possibilities and produce valuable solutions that are beneficial to the customer value-chain and contribute to the sustainability of the ecosystem.
Hence, this is the reason why in the beginning of human existence, God created the trees but not the chairs. He created the animals but not the shoes, or the leather bags and the luxurious leather chairs and other accessories.
This is because He has given humanity the opportunity to leverage our creative abilities to optimise and maximise the good use of everything in our environment for the purpose of creating valuable products and services that can transform human lives for the best and contribute to the sustainability of the environment.
✍️This brings me to my next point; according to historical stories, in the nineteenth century the Commissioner of the U.S. Patent Office wanted to shut down the organization. He supposedly proclaimed; “Everything that can be invented has been invented.”
However, with the benefit of hindsight history has proved his statement to be short-sighted because of the amount of inventions recorded post 19th century.
✍️ From the foregoing, it is apparent that the Power of Creativity and Optimization can only be sustained through an ongoing process of continuous monitoring and improvement in anticipation of changing circumstances, market demands and environmental conditions.
This is the reason why you were not born to Fit in, but to become a Positive Influence on your environment. The moment you want to Fit in, you begin to lose your Uniqueness and Creative Abilities.
✍️The Power of Creativity and Optimisation enables you to develop an Entrepreneurial Mindset that can empower you to identify human needs and reach out to solve them in a sustainable manner.
📌One Generation plants the Seed, the Next plays in the shade.” Chinese Proverbs
✍️This brings me to my next point; from the Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs, humans are motivated to fulfill their needs in a hierarchical order. This order begins with the most basic needs such as food, water, air, shelter, before moving on to more advanced needs:👇
🥇Therefore, the moment you stop leveraging your creative potentials for problem solving, and optimisation. You will stop growing and evolving to the Best Version of yourself (Self Actualisation).
✍️This brings me to another point; Human beings are creatures of continuous evolution (motivated by the pursuit of different levels of needs) and the adaptation to changing environmental, political, economic, social and geopolitical influences.
Hence, every industrial revolution has leveraged the Power of Creativity and Optimisation to tackle the human needs and the challenges that are peculiar to that generation; from hunting for survival, to trade by barter and the wars for the control of lands and slaves (labour force) for agriculture. To the invention of machines and engines that reduced the dependency on manual labour.
✍️This transition included going from hand production methods to the invention and the use of machines to optimise the method of production, processing (through the establishment of factories) and distribution (facilitated by steam engine transportation).
This transition from the Agricultural Revolution to the Industrial Revolution contributed to the decline in the economic benefits of the slave trade and the reliance on manual labour.
✍️ Furthermore, the second Industrial Revolution, was a period of global transition of the human economy towards more widespread, efficient and stable manufacturing processes that succeeded the Agricultural Revolution.
Hence, human beings have evolved from the period of manual labour driven by the Agricultural Age through the Industrial Revolution to the current Digital Revolution characterised by Artificial Intelligence and Smart Technologies.👇
✍️This brings me to my final point, the future Industrial Revolutions will be driven by the Power of Creativity and Optimisation conceived in the Human Mind.
This is because you must allow your mind to evolve from Conventional Methodology and thinking to the birthing of Future Possibilities through Creative Thinking and Optimisation, before you can produce valuable solutions that the solve problems which are relevant to the new dispensation (Age of Disruptive Technologies).
📌This reminds me of the amazing statement from the former US President Robert F Kennedy, “Some men see things as they are and ask, “Why?” I dream things that never were and ask, “Why not?”
✍️Therefore, the Evolution of the Human Mind by leveraging the Power of Creativity and Optimisation will play a significant role in pushing the boundaries to boost Productivity, Efficiency and Sustainability.
It will also facilitate the adaptation of Revolutionary and Disruptive Technologies for either the sustainability or destruction of the ecosystem. As well as the advancement or extinction of the human race.
📌The former British Prime minister, Winston Churchill once said that, “The empires of the future will be empires of the mind.”
