Positive Vs Negative Self-image

How can you improve or change your self-image?

THROUGH THE UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR UNIQUE IDENTITY.

You will always find your SELF-IMAGE reflected in every aspect of your life. Either for good or bad.

Ask yourself, “Am I using my mind in a positive or in a negative way?”

“Is my imagination creating suffering or happiness for me?”

“Is my self-concept & belief system empowering or dis-empowering?”

It doesn’t matter whether you are religious or non-religious. Your life was built on certain belief system or personal philosophy which moulds your mindset and Self-image.

The mindset and self-image in this context is a set of beliefs or a way of thinking (personal philosophy) that determines one’s behaviour, actions, outlook and mental attitude.

Human beings are creatures of habit. So except you become conscious of these habits, you will not break away from the herd mentality

According to the scientific research, an average person has about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. Of those, 80% are negative and 95% are repetitive thoughts. If we repeat those negative thoughts, we think negative way more than we think positive thoughts

My favourite book says, “As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart. Proverbs 27:19

Simply put, your mind is a flexible mirror, adjust it, to change your thought patterns and re-conceptualise a better self-image and self-concept

Success is not by accident, it’s by Design. Hence, the best way to create the future you want, is to Design it and tell the story that reflect your unique Identity.

You’re a Masterpiece and your self-image and self-concept should be aligned to that unique Identity through your belief and affirmations.

According to the law of the universe WHATEVER YOU ADD TO “I AM” YOU WILL EVENTUALLY BECOME.

Ali practised this very well to become the greatest boxer in his prime.

How To Overcome Crisis Episode 5 (4 STEPS TO MENTAL & PHYSICAL WELL BEING)

Summary

4 STEPS TO MENTAL & PHYSICAL WELL BEING:

1. Word Therapy (Affirmations): there is power in using the affirmation I AM… healthy, I am Fearless, I am happy, I am indomitable, irrespective of any circumstances. I have a sound mind. I have limitless potentials. 

According to the Universal Law of Creation, whatever you add to “I AM” you will become, because your words become flesh & they also create positive or negative emotions. Which can affect your mental & physical health. This reminds of the boxer Mohammed Ali, who practiced this to become the greatest boxer during his prime.

2. Use the power of your mind: constructively rather destructively to create the life you desire and fulfil your purpose. 

You will always attract energy that is in harmony with the vibration frequency of your personal thoughts and feelings.

For instance, if your dominant thoughts are positive of happiness it will generate positive emotions and attract positive feedback into your life. Likewise, negative feedback is as a result of dominant thoughts of anxiety and worries.

3. Focus on Positive: life will always present you with two polarities; positive or negative. Choose to always focus on the positive, and ignore the negative. Happiness is a choice and so you can decide to be happy irrespective of any crises. 

I have noticed that laughter has a way of calming the nerves. So, don’t wait to feel happy before you laugh, just start laughing and the hormones for happiness will kick in.

My favourite book says; “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6 NIV

4. Use Creative Visualization: you can use creative visualization to improve your mental and physical health. So, if you’re not happy with the direction of your life, you can change the dynamics by visualizing yourself living the life you desire. 

Surprisingly, the hormones in our brain associated with the emotions created during visualization would respond in a similar way under real-life condition.

HOW TO DEAL WITH ANXIETY & STRESS (Using 5 Steps)

I would like to welcome you back to the 2021 edition of the Masterpiece Inspirations Blogs and Podcasts.

I am delighted that despite all that happened in 2020, we are still prevailing.

I want to say a Happy New Year to you and to wish you a prosperous months ahead.

In this current economic crisis and pandemic that is facing the global community, it is so important to take a moment to refocus our minds to protect both our mental and physical health

I like this amazing quote from my favourite book;

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? (Mathew 6:25-27).\”

My take from that quote is that worry, anxiety, being stressful can never change anyone\’s circumstances, but would rather lead to the dark path of depression, poor mental and physical health.

From a neurological point of view, there are hormones in our brain associated with positive and negative emotions.

Hormones of stress can be triggered by negative emotions such as anger, fears, insecurity, etc.

Likewise, hormones of happiness can be evoked by positive emotions. Dopamine is a hormone associated with happiness and serotonin regulates our mood.

The correlation between the human emotions and the hormones, was written in the book of Proverbs over 2000 years ago;

 \”A joyful, cheerful heart brings healing to both body and soul. But the one whose heart is crushed struggles with sickness and depression. (Proverbs 17:22).\”

I\’m intrigued by the research from Neuroscientists, especially the works of Dr Caroline Leaf and Dr Joe Dispenza. Their research revealed that hormones of stress can chemically change our bodies and even suppress the immune system.

Emotions are simply energy in motion. All energy is frequency and all frequencies carry information, that can be transmitted and received by wireless devices, which are configured to respond to specific frequency spectrum.

Likewise, as humans we are always sending and receiving information based on our personal thoughts and feelings.

Our thought patterns become emotional patterns. 

This means that your thoughts can evoke emotions to create hormone of stress, which can suppress your immune system, and leave the body vulnerable to disease. 

Likewise, your thoughts can evoke emotions to create hormone of happiness, which improves both your mental and physical health and wellness

Also emotional patterns create behavioural patterns. My favourite book says, \”As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart (Proverbs 27:19).\”

Hence, as a man thinks in his heart so is he.

According to the universal Law of Faith (or Expectation), you will attract into your life whatever is your dominant thoughts and expectations. This is because your thoughts control what you say and your words creates realities (the Word was made flesh).

Your dominant thoughts and words are emotional triggers that sets in motion a creative force that determines the direction (vibration) of your life. Just as a glass can be sent into vibration by resonance frequency (experiment from the Laws of Physics)

Likewise, your thought patterns are vibrational and whatever you vibrate you would attract into your life. This is because the universe has been programmed by the Sovereign God for the good of humanity. However, when the Law of Faith is applied wrongly through fears, negative thoughts and words, it sets in motion negative feedbacks that are disadvantageous to humanity.

The main relationship between fear and faith is that both requires strong expectancy over the manifestation of something that has not yet become a reality.

Fear is oftentimes driven by negative expectancy and belief system. It has been said that FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real. Conversely, faith is driven by positive expectancy and belief system

My favourite book says, \”Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.\” Isaiah 65:24 NIV.

\”This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer—be convinced that you have received it and it will be yours.\” Mark 11:24 TPT.

So if you\’re not happy with the direction of your life, you have to first change what you focus your mind on (dominant thoughts & negative affirmations). Then the results (feedbacks) will begin to change, because change is a process.

The change starts with what you feed your mind continuously, because that will become your dominant thoughts. 

My favourite book says; \”Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.\” Romans 12:2 NIV.

Meaning exchanging your thoughts for God\’s thought patterns, which are perfect for your life and in alignment with the Universal Laws of Creation. 

Hence, you\’re a creator and your mind conceptualises images from your thought patterns to create your reality.

For instance if your dominant thoughts are positive it will generate positive vibration and attract positive feedback into your life. The reverse is the case for negative dominant thoughts. 

So be careful what you feed your mind and what you say with your mouth, for both determines the direction of your life

Your thought patterns could be as a result of environmental, cultural, social, religious, educational or other forms of mental conditioning, that controls your mindset and attitude to life.

By thought patterns am referring to any fixed paradigm; that is a set of belief system, Intellectual perception, concept or view, accepted by an individual or a society as a clear example, model, or pattern of how things work in the world.

5 Steps To Dealing With Anxiety & Stress:

1. Apply Word Therapy (Creative Affirmations): use the power of I AM, in your affirmations, because according to the universal Law of Creation, whatever you add to I AM, you would become. 

I\’m healthy. I\’m fearless. I\’m a winner, no matter the circumstances. I have a sound mind. I have limitless potentials.

2. Use the power of your mind constructively rather destructively to create the life you desire and fulfill your purpose

Your mind is the doorway to your spirit and should be guided judiciously, because you will always attract the energy that is in harmony with the vibration frequency of your thought patterns. \”As man thinketh in his heart so is he.\” 

3. Focus on The Positives: life will always present you with two polarities( positive or negative). Choose to always focus on the positive and ignore the negative. Never forget that happiness is a matter of personal choice.

My favourite book gives us useful ideas on what to focus our minds on; \”Finally, my friends, keep your minds on whatever is true, pure, right, holy, friendly, and proper. Don\’t ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile and worthy of praise.\” Philippians 4:8 CEV.
