Dear Masterpiece Family,
I hope you started the month of November on a good note and you are living the dream despite the challenges of life. Let me remind you that failure does not mean you are a Failure it just means you have not yet succeeded.
In today’s newsletter, I would like to continue on the previous discussion regarding; ‘‘How to Turn Your Pains into Purpose”.
I believe this topic is timely because the challenges and pains we experience in life will either make us better or break us.
βοΈThis brings me to my first point; I have observed that in the journey of life, the question is not if you will ever face challenges or times of adversity, but how you will respond when they hit you.
This statement brings to mind the following words of wisdom from King Solomon:
”I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favour to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all” (Ecclesiastes 9:11).
This quote is a reminder that the wisest, smartest and strongest are not often the most successful people, even though they seem to have better advantages than the average person.
However, what separates Winners π from others, is the ability to recognise and maximise opportunities even in the midst of uncertainties and challenges.
Hence, no matter what life throws at you, what matters most is how you will respond, because your reaction will determine how you can turn your setbacks into opportunities to bounce back.
The good news is that adversity and the obstacles of life can work in your favour. It can help you find strength by recognising that every adversity has got within it the seed of an equivalent reward and promotion.
βοΈLet us look at the following quotes that can help you to turn failures and challenges into valuable lessons that will empower you Bounce back from setbacks by transitioning from Pains into Purpose:
π ”Failure is delay but not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead-end street. β William Arthur Ward
π Donβt be afraid to fail. Donβt waste energy trying to cover up failure. Learn from your failures and go on to the next challenge. It is ok to fail. If you are not failing, you are not growing.” Stanley Judd
π Success and failure are two sides of the same coin. Failure often provides the insights needed to refine our approach and finally reach success.
π βFailure is instructive. The person who really thinks learns quite as much from his failures as from his successes.β John Dewey
π βDo not fear mistakes. You will know failure. Continue to reach out.β Benjamin Franklin
βFailure is success in progress.β Albert Einstein
π ”Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker.β John C. Maxwell
π βFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.β Henry Ford
π ”Failure doesnβt mean you are a failure it just means you have not succeeded yet.β Robert H. Schuller
βοΈ From the foregoing, whenever you face any challenge in life with this type of failure-proofed mindset, it will empower you to recognise opportunities in the midst of crisis and shift your focus from Pain to Gain through your Persistence and Determination.
In the words of the former president of America Calvin Coolidge, βNothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and Determination alone are omnipotent.ββ
Patience, persistence, and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success.β Napoleon Hill
This brings me to my final point; when faced with challenges you should not retreat and give up with fear, instead respond with faith and courage.
However, courage is not the absence of fear, but the determination to forge ahead despite those fears and self-doubt. Simply put, courage is the boldness and persistence that you require to turn your setback into a comeback, and your Pains into Purpose-driven Results.
π ”I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” Nelson Mandela
π ββCourage is not having the strength to go on; it is going on when you donβt have strength.ββ Napoleon Bonaparte
πβYou cannot swim for new horizons until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.β William Faulkner
π ”He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.” Muhammad Ali
