Dear Friends,
Compliments of the day and welcome to a very exciting and inspiring episode 🌹
✍️ I would like to start this discussion with the profound statement from Albert Einstein, “In the midst of every crisis, lies great opportunity.”
This means that every setback, challenge or obstacle can become an opportunity for major beneficial transformation if only we can Reframe it by leveraging Resilience and a Growth 💹 Mindset.
This concept is based on the premise that crisis and all forms of Setbacks force us to either Break or Grow by becoming more creative, resilient and adaptive. And without these obstacles, we might never maximise our unlimited potentials to become the Best Versions of ourselves💎
In the words of the Philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson, “The mind, once stretched by a new idea, never returns to its original dimensions.“
A good illustration of Reframing Crisis is by looking at the Chinese perspective on Crisis; I discovered that the Chinese characters for “crisis” (危机 – wēijī) consist of two parts: one part representing danger and the other opportunity.
✍️ Therefore, every Crisis can be viewed from two perspectives; Danger and Opportunity. With this in mind let us look at the following inspiring perspectives:
“What is a disaster for most is an opportunity for a few.” — Richard Ney
Life constantly presents the greatest opportunity brilliantly disguised as the biggest disaster.” — David Icke”
Disaster is virtue’s opportunity.” — Seneca
Therefore, no matter what you’re going through in Life, never allow a temporary situation to become your Permanent Identity; because life is seasonal and no condition is permanent.
✍️ This brings me to my next point; let us examine the some of the transformational benefits of leveraging the opportunities that are inherent in every crisis:
in the words of the American politician and diplomat Rahm Emanuel, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.”
Every challenging and difficult time is an opportunity to evaluate and Strengthen your relationship, social connections and Identify your Loyal Allies.
This is because It is only in the period of crisis that the people around you will reveal their true characters and identities.
Therefore, as a Leader, view every business or personal setback is an opportunity to filter out fake friends, team members or associates from your inner circle and get rid of them immediately.
This is because you cannot weather a turbulent sea with unreliable people, and negative voices who can back stab you and feed you to the sharks at the slightest pressure, discomfort and whenever there is an opportunity for betrayal.
The book of Proverbs says, “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother”
Simply put, this proverb highlights the value of true friendship and fraternity over sycophancy and parasitic relationships based on selfish interests.
✍️This brings me to my final point; never Underestimate the Importance of Crisis in your personal Life or business; because it is the Period that will reveal your Fake Friends and Loyal Allies.
in the words of Napoleon Hill, “Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.”
As a leader, when you apply this mindset and attitude in your business and personal life whilst facing crisis or any form of setback; you will begin to unlock the hidden silver lining in a seemingly tough situation or bad season.
